The Neuronal network Based Initiative (NBI, Anillo 2013), a multidisciplinary team interested in understanding the causes of neuronal vulnerability in neurodegenerative diseases.
Themes available:
1- Study of stress responses in mouse models of disease and genetic manipulation (Dr. Claudio Hetz, chetz@hsph.harvard.edu, www.hetzlab.cl). Experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Desirable experience working with mouse models.
2- Gene and metabolic networks that modulate neuronal degeneration and regeneration using C. elegans (Dr. Andrea Calixto, andrea.calixto@umayor.cl, www.umayor.cl). Experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Desirable experience working with invertebrate model organisms.
3- Glia to neuron communication in degenerative and regenerative programs (Dr. Felipe Court, fcourt@bio.puc.cl, www.courtlab.cl). Experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Desirable experience working with mouse models.
